Allow Pop Ups
Sometimes you need to allow a pop up. All too often though when you need a pop up, you can't figure out how to allow it. Since most pop up blockers now come with another program or browser add on and they are built into your browser, it is difficult to figure out what blocked the pop up and how to allow it. There is a very simple way to allow pop ups when you need them.

Allow Pop Ups Instructions:

To allow a pop up when clicking on a link, all you need to do is hold the CTRL while clicking the link. For instance, this is a link: link. Before you click on the link with your mouse, go to the keyboard and hold down CTRL (located in the lower left corner on the keyboard), then click the link. You can use this combination for any link that you click. If you aren't bypassing your pop up software, this will open the link in a new window of your browser.

If you realize that you are already at a page that needed a pop up, click on your Back button and then re-click the link to the page with the pop up while holding down the CTRL key.

Holding Down the CTRL Key Didn't Work to Bypass Pop Up Blocker

If holding down the CTRL key didn't work to allow the pop up, instructions to stop the pop up blocker will depend on what browser or pop up blocker you are using.
Bypass Pop Up Blocker Google Toolbar and Internet Explorer 6
All you need to do, is click on the Google Toolbar Blocked at the top of your browser. This will allow Pop Ups for the site that you are using. The next time you go back to the site it will remember the "allow pup ups" setting for the site.

Bypass FireFox Pop Up Blocker
FireFox will display an information bar at the top of the browser. Click the Options/Preferences button and it will display these options:

  • Allow/Block popups for this site
  • Edit Popup Blocker
         OptionsPreferences...
  • Don't show this message (info message) when popups are blocked
         (show a blocked popup)
  • Select from the option to allow the pop up.

Other Pop Up Blockers
You will need to look at the help menu and search for Allow Pop Ups.
