Your Family's Guide to Email Using Outlook Express
Block People From Sending Email
You are here: Internet Family Fun Home > Internet Help > Guide to Outlook Express for Email Help > Block People From Sending Email
There is also a way to block people from sending you email. Let's say that all of the sudden you are getting email from someone you don't want to communicate with. It happens all the time when your email address gets sold. Instead of creating a rule to automatically delete the email, you can block the sender and it will automatically be filtered to the deleted items folder. Adding someone to the block sender's list is a bit easier than creating a message rule.
To block a sender:
Open the email message that was sent from the person that you want to block.
Select Message at the top, then Block Sender

You will be notified what the email address is and that it has been added to the blocked senders list.

Another Way to Access the Blocked Senders List
You can modify, add or remove email address addresses from the blocked sender list.
Select Tools then Message Rules then Blocked Senders

A new window will open where you can modify the sender's email address, add a new email address or remove a blocked sender from the list.

Next, let's go over some safety precautions for your family and for your computer when using Outlook Express.
